Warden Training

Fire is a significant sudden onset hazard requiring a rapid coordinated response to ensure life safety.

Why is training required?

  • It is a FENZ (Fire Emergency New Zealand) requirement to hold six monthly trial evacuations and ensure enough trained Wardens to facilitate a rapid evacuation.
  • The consequences of Covid and working from home, result in a high likelihood of some Wardens not being at work. Additional Wardens should therefore be trained to provide sufficient cover on any given day.

Customised training

We provide customised blended learning opportunities with a mixture of workshops and online training. This provides flexibility to meet your operational requirements enabling sufficient wardens to be trained to cover all hours of operations.

Overview

This training is designed for new and annual training for Fire Wardens.

Training is divided into three modules.

  • Discovering a fire – this can be used as a stand-alone training session for all staff
  • Warden specific duties
  • Practical tasks to apply your knowledge to your worksite and practice taking a leadership role to transfer your learning to your team.
